A friend of mine gave me flowers for my Confirmation last weekend. Isn't it amazing how much flowers can lift your mood? Needless to say, I want these puppies to last a while! Especially since it's snowing here.

I took the flowers out of the bouquet in which they came, and I put them into glass jars (you know, the ones you save because they seem so useful but you have a whole drawer full of them and you're starting to wonder when "Hoarders" will show up at your door), and old diffuser bottles. They're currently brightening my dining room!

Quilted Cards

My mom is a quilter. And a damn good one at that. She has a way with fabrics and an eye for colour. She knows the best blocks to use with certain patterns and colours. Above all, every quilt she makes is made with love. She's made a few pieces for Victoria's Quilts - a non-profit organization that makes quilts for women with cancer.

I don't have her talent with a needle and thread, but darn it, I'm good with paper! Needless to say, my mom inspired me to make some quilt block cards.

Why baloo2662?

Ok, so I realize that I have one of the most ridiculous Etsy usernames ever. I really only created it to buy pretty things from Etsy, but then a friend suggested I try to sell some of my paper wares, and I didn't want to lose my positive feedback, so I was stuck with it.

Where does it come from? Well, the 2662 is "ANNA" on the telephone. Anna Baloo is a nickname my husband calls me (or just Baloo). Did he know it was the name of an obese bear on "The Jungle Book"? No. He did not. People ask this of me all the time. I do not resemble Baloo the least I hope not!

My husband started out by calling me Anna Balana (everyone called me Anna Banana, and he wanted to be original). Then it was Anna Balana Baloo. Then it was Anna Baloo, and then it was just Baloo. Of course, he's created more variations (Baloober is a new one of which he is fond).

Sadly, I am not the only Anna Baloo, as the Etsy username "annabaloo" was already taken when I went to initially sign up. As was "annabanana" and "annabalana". I felt "annabalanabaloo" was just too long. "baloo" was also taken. I would later discover baloo's Etsy shop, and that she is also on the Etsy Alberta Street Team. Needless to say, this causes quite a bit of confusion during our team chats! So I try to go by Anna.

The username isn't the greatest, but I've been told that since it rhymes it's easy to remember. And, hey, that's all I can really ask for!

How to Make Perfect Pizza: Part III

Step 10: Mushrooms (I prefer fresh, my husband prefers canned. He won this round).
Step 11: Put on that taco beef you were making earlier.

Step 12: Cheese it up (mozza)!

Step 13: Bake at 450F until cheese and crust is golden. ENJOY!

How to Make Perfect Pizza: Part II

Step 5: Get saucy!
Step 6: Pep it up, yo!

Step 7: Spread on the onions (try to even them out)

Step 8: Tomatoes...

Step 9: Green peppers...

How to Make Perfect Pizza: Part I

Step 1: Start with some good red wine. This will help you to relax. It's imperative to be relaxed when making Perfect Pizza.
Step 2: Thinly slice pepperoni, onion, green pepper, and tomato.

Step 3: Do up some extra lean ground beef like you would if you were making tacos (this part is my husband's job)

Step 4: I prefer to make my own pizza crust from one of those "just add water" packages from the grocery store. Why? So I can roll cream cheese into the crust (this is the deal maker here, folks).

There is a bunny that's been sun-bathing in our backyard. He stretches right out and even crosses his hind legs and chills out. I'm trying to think of a good name for him...
